This site was created to provide insight on the materials, styles, location, and messages of a select number of African-American quilts to show their meaning and purpose outside of the modern notion that quilts are used as covers. The project was done over a 37 day time frame starting with the annotated bibliography and ending with this website. My visual analysis of the quilts was conducted at the Michigan State University Museum Central Services Space, which is located at 570 Red Cedar Road East Lansing, MI 48825 and is the building in between the stadium and Wells Hall.
